1.1. iWantLoads (Pty) Ltd ("the Company", "iWantLoads", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how we collect, process, and safeguard the personal information of data subjects ("you") who interact with our platform at www.iWantLoads.com.
1.2. We are committed to full compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA, Act 4 of 2013).

(a) consent to this Policy and authorise us to process your personal information as outlined herein; and
(b) authorise iWantLoads, its service providers, and business partners to process your information for the purposes set out in this Policy.
1.4. We will not use your personal information for purposes other than those specified in this Policy, and we are committed to protecting it against unauthorised alteration, loss, or disclosure.
1.5. This Policy applies to all data subjects who interact with iWantLoads, including Shippers, Transporters, prospective employees, contractors, service providers, regulators, and any persons acting in a representative capacity.
2. Collection of Personal Information
2.1. We collect and process personal information primarily to provide access to our services and to continually improve our platform offerings.
2.2. We collect personal information directly from you when you register on the platform, post loads, submit quotations, request services, or communicate with us in any capacity.
2.3. Website usage data may be collected through the use of cookies and similar technologies (see section 13).
2.4. We do not knowingly collect the personal information of minors without the prior consent of a competent person as defined under POPIA.
3. Categories of Personal Information We May Process
We may collect and process the following categories of personal information:
- Contact details, including full name, physical and postal address, telephone number, and email address;
- Business registration and verification details (required for Transporters);
- Transactional data, including load postings, quotations, bookings, and payment records;
- Banking and payment details for the purposes of escrow deposits and payouts;
- Device and browsing data, including IP address, browser type, operating system, and user preferences;
- Consent records, including opt-in confirmations, POPIA consents, and associated timestamps; and
- Employer or business details where you interact with the platform in a corporate capacity.
4. Special Personal Information
We will only process special personal information — such as sensitive identity or financial data — where required by applicable law, with your express consent, or where strictly necessary for legitimate business purposes, including KYC/AML compliance obligations applicable to payout processing.
5. Purposes of Processing and Legal Bases for Processing
We process your personal information for the following purposes:
- Operating our digital marketplace and escrow services;
- Enabling Shippers to post loads and Transporters to submit quotations;
- Facilitating secure payments, refunds, and Transporter payouts;
- Conducting KYC/AML verification checks;
- Responding to enquiries and support requests;
- Fraud prevention and platform security;
- Compliance with applicable regulatory obligations;
- Monitoring and improving overall platform performance; and
- Direct marketing communications, subject to your consent.
6. Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties
We may disclose your personal information in the following circumstances:
- To trusted service providers, including payment processors, IT support providers, and compliance partners;
- To regulators and law enforcement authorities where disclosure is required by applicable law or valid legal process;
- To contractors who are bound by appropriate confidentiality agreements; and
- To third parties involved in fraud prevention or security investigations.
We will ensure that all such parties process your personal information only for the agreed purposes and with adequate protections in place, in accordance with POPIA.
7. International Transfer of Personal Information
Where it becomes necessary to transfer your personal information outside of the Republic of South Africa, such transfer will only be undertaken where the recipient country or service provider ensures a level of data protection substantially equivalent to that afforded under POPIA, or where you have expressly consented to the transfer.
8. Data Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational security measures — including encryption, firewalls, and access controls — to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. In the event that we have reasonable grounds to believe that your personal information has been accessed or acquired unlawfully, we will notify both the Information Regulator and you as soon as reasonably practicable, unless otherwise directed by the relevant authorities.
9. Data Accuracy
You are responsible for ensuring that the personal information you provide to us is accurate and up to date. iWantLoads may periodically request that you review and update your details via the platform.
10. Data Minimisation
We are committed to limiting the collection and processing of personal information to what is strictly necessary for the legitimate business purposes outlined in this Policy.
11. Data Retention
Personal information will be retained only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or for as long as is required by applicable law, whichever period is the longer.
12. Your Legal Rights
In accordance with POPIA, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Request the correction or deletion of your personal information;
- Object to the processing of your personal information, where permitted by law;
- Withdraw your consent to processing at any time; and
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
13. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We may make use of cookies and related technologies to enhance your experience on www.iWantLoads.com, monitor platform usage, and personalise content. You may disable cookies through your browser settings; however, doing so may affect certain platform functionalities.
14. Direct Marketing
We may use your personal information to send you service-related updates or marketing communications relevant to Shippers and Transporters on our platform. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time and at no cost to you.
